The Adventures of Hermana Patten: Part 2

 Hola amigos!

This is my second and last email to you as an at home missionary because I get to go to the Mexico MTC on Tuesday!! (my flight is at an obscenely early hour in the morning but we don't have to talk about that...) I'm so so excited to advance my Spanish and meet my district and my companion in person and learn more about how to do the Lord's work.
This week, so many amazing things happened, I've been on a spiritual high for the longest time and it makes me so happy! I'll just share two of them with you.
1) Last Sunday, I gave my farewell talk. Usually I'm terrified of public speaking and I get all jittery and forget how to say words. But the Lord was so very much with me! I said so many prayers and was kind of nervous beforehand but as soon as I got up there, everything was completely fine. I was able to give my talk and feel the spirit and cry at the pulpit all in one.
2) We had an assignment this week to interview a convert and ask about their conversion journey, and let me tell you, it was AMAZING. I've never really talked to someone who hasn't grown up in the church about their path to God but it was so so cool to hear about it from a perspective I haven't thought a lot about before (and that will hopefully be really helpful as I try to help others on their own journeys of coming to Christ).
Fun Fact of the Week: One of the Hermanas in my district was in my fourth grade class, so now we've been reunited (Mrs. Judd's class for the win!)
Thought of the Week: 1 Samuel 16:7 says, "for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart"
Basically I really love this because it can be so so easy to get stuck on the way the world judges people - for their hair or weight or intellect or something else inconsequential. But God does not care! He loves you just the way you are, and all He cares about is if you're trying to do better :)
I love you all so so much!! Have the best week ever (yes, even better than last week) and remember that God loves you!!
Love,
Hermana Patten
